Dean Cabinetry, a highly rated cabinet company in Bolton, Connecticut, was heavily damaged by fire on Friday, Jan. 24, but the company is reporting that they are taking "proactive steps" to get back up and running to fulfill orders.
While workers and staff were in the building when the fire was noticed, all staff evacuated the building and no injuries were reported as the result of the Friday morning fire, according to fire department officials and a company statement.
"We are sad to report that we had a fire at Dean Cabinetry this morning. Thankfully, everyone is safe. Local fire departments responded quickly and extinguished the flames," the company posted to their Facebook account. "While we haven’t been able to fully assess the damage, we’re taking proactive steps to ensure minimal disruption to our operations. We’ve already relocated both our office and production facilities. We anticipate a brief delay of at most one or two weeks in our usual workflow."

The family owned company has been in business for 25 years, and has a team of 35. Based on company videos and blog posts, the company utilized high-end equipment to produce custom cabinetry for customers throughout Connecticut. Images from the scene show heavy damage to the facility, but it is not yet known the damage to equipment, inventory, or completed projects or work-in-progress.
Emergency crews from the Bolton Voluntary Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in a commercial building at 7:15 a.m. The Bolton Fire Chief requested a second alarm be struck due to the large amount of black smoke. The first fire officer was on scene in six minutes reporting smoke showing from the roof and side of the steel and masonry building.

Due to a lack of fire hydrants at the scene, at least six water tanks were used to battle the fire and firefighters also used chainsaws to break through the ice of pond about 1,000 feet away for additional water.
The fire was put under control at 9:44 a.m., and the Bolton Fire Marshal is working with CT State Police (CSP) Fire Marshal staff to try to identify the cause and origin of the fire.
