HOUSTON – A custom cabinet installer alleges he was in a coma for a month over injuries sustained on the job.

On February 1, Gilberto Martinez, installing for Carlin's Custom Cabinetry, alleged he was at a home installing cabinets when he became pinned by the cabinetry. Martinez says he suffered severe injuries, including an intracranial hemorrhage that caused a month-long coma.

Martinez filed a claim August 1 against Aaron T. Carlin, Carlin's Custom Cabinetry, and William Carlton, the client. He is claiming negligence.

Martinez, hired by Carlin's to install the cabinetry, claims Carlin and Carlton are responsible because they failed to properly warn him and instruct him. He is requesting a trial by jury and is seeking actual and compensatory damages.
